  • Our PRIDE Values

What you do today, can improve all your tomorrows…

At Cedars Academy we believe in a philosophy that promotes both independence and a strong commitment to collective responsibility. We want all children who attend Cedars Academy to share and contribute to our values that promote a safe, inclusive and ambitious community.

These principles lay the foundations of our PRIDE values and for each individual’s growth and awareness of the part they play in the school and wider community. In 2023, we adapted our PRIDE values after consultation with the children, staff and community to reflect our collective aims and inspiration for every child.

Purpose

What does Purpose mean to us?

We aim to ensure that children have a clear purpose in all they do. Children
know what they are learning in all lessons and why it is important. Activities and events are purposeful and enhance the learning experiences of every child at Cedars Academy.

Respect

What does Respect mean to us?

Respect is fundamental to all we do and lays the foundation for successful relationships, behaviour and being part of such a wonderfully diverse community. We encourage children to show respect to each other and all adults by using manners, following school rules, demonstrating self control in challenging situations, and being kind and courteous to all members of the Cedars Family, extending the embedded respect to all members of the community.

Independence

What does Independence mean to us?

We aim to develop and provide children with transferable strategies to enhance their independence inside and outside the classroom and beyond to their next steps of education.

Determination

What does Determination mean to us?

Children are supported to be resilient in the light of challenge and failure through a Growth Mindset approach. This way they develop a sense of determination to succeed and persist when faced with challenges and problems.

Equality

What does Equality mean to us?

Our curriculum has been designed to be inclusive in every way possible for
every child. We value the whole child - celebrating and nurturing diversity and all talents and achievements. We provide the necessary challenge and support to enable all children to reach their full potential.
